Tips
Small things that make a big difference.
Tam Listen is designed to work the moment you open it. But there are a few things you can do — from one-time setup to handy shortcuts — that will make the whole experience feel smoother and faster.
Setup
Bring your cloud storage into the file picker
When you import files in Tam Listen, the file picker shows you a set of locations — your device, iCloud Drive, and so on. But if you use Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or another cloud storage app, those locations might not show up by default.
You can fix that. It's a one-time change and it makes importing from your cloud library effortless.
Here's how:
- Open the Files app on your device (or open the file picker inside Tam Listen).
- Tap the ⋯ button (three dots) in the top corner.
- Tap Edit.
- Toggle on any cloud storage apps you have installed — Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and others will appear here if the app is on your device.
- Tap Done.
That's it. From now on, every time you import into Tam Listen, your cloud files are right there waiting for you.
Share into Tam Listen from any app
You don't always have to import files by browsing for them. If you're already looking at an audio file somewhere — in Dropbox, Voice Memos, a messaging app, your email — you can send it straight to Tam Listen without leaving that app.
Here's how:
- In any app, find the file you want to listen to and tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- In the share sheet that appears, look for Tam Listen in the row of apps.
- Tap it. The file is copied into your Tam Listen library, ready to play.
This is especially nice for voice memos, recordings people send you, or files you come across in cloud storage while doing something else. No need to switch apps — just share and it's there.
Pin Tam Listen to the front of your share sheet
Once you start using the share extension, you'll want Tam Listen close at hand — not buried alphabetically in a long list of apps. You can pin it as a favorite so it always shows up first.
Here's how:
- Open the share sheet from any app (tap the Share button on any file).
- Scroll to the end of the app row and tap More.
- Find Tam Listen in the list and tap Edit (top right).
- Tap the + button next to Tam Listen to add it to your Favorites.
- Drag it to the top of the list if you'd like it first. You can reorder any of your favorites here too.
- Tap Done.
Now every time you share something, Tam Listen is right there at your fingertips — no scrolling, no searching.
If you plan to listen to music
Turn on the dedicated music player
Turn on Music Mode in Settings to get a separate tab and player built for music — scrub and skip tracks instead of skip-back-by-seconds. Use the long press menu to mark any import as music.
Shortcuts
Long press for more options
Touch and hold any file, directory, or project to open a quick menu — rename, remove, mark as completed, and more — without digging through settings.
Drag to reorder
Touch and hold, then drag to reorder your files, directories, projects, and playlists. Your custom order is saved automatically.
Each of these takes a moment and pays off every time you use the app. If you have questions or want to share how you use Tam Listen, we'd love to hear from you at support@tam.buzz.
